About the Work

INSPIRATION
“I am a recording instrument. I do not presume to impose a story, or plot continuity” William Burroughs

My work explores communication, mixed heritage, and urban experience through painting. These are personal visual diaries with influences of a mixed heritage: Chinese & English.

In a world full of visual stimuli capturing the attention of the viewer is a challenge for an artist. I am interested in the relationship between artist and the viewer, the production and consumption of art, and the engagement between making and seeing.

Combining personal experience of hybridity and of making art I am exploring the possibilities of making non directive, non narrative work to encourage active viewing and personal interpretation.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this website.

Many of the works are for sale. Please use the contact form if you want more information.
